RUN FOR RESEARCH® 2008 TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Please carefully read the appropriate section below for INVITATIONAL (top) and QUALIFIED (bottom) runners.

INVITATIONAL RUNNERS

FUNDRAISING COMMITMENT: A $3,000 minimum donation is required to join the Run for Research® team and receive an invitational entry for the 2008 Boston Marathon®. A non-refundable deposit of $125 will be charged to your credit card, if you are accepted onto the team, of which $100 will be applied toward your fundraising minimum. Your deposit reserves a Boston Marathon® invitational entry in your name until January 15, 2008, when you must have at least $500 of donations submitted. The remaining balance must be submitted by May 15, 2008.

A valid credit card (MasterCard, Visa or Amex), in your name and valid through July 2008, must be included with your application to apply for the Run for Research® team. On May 15, 2008, the credit card will be billed for any balance due to reach the fundraising minimum of $3000.

CANCELLATION POLICY: You may cancel your participation with the Run for Research â team for the Boston Marathon®, waiving your responsibility for the $3,000 minimum, any time on or before January 1, 2008. You must contact the Run for Research® office at the American Liver Foundation, in writing, on or before the cancellation date. Your $125 deposit is non-refundable. After January 1, 2008, you are responsible for raising the $3,000 minimum, even if for any reason, including injury, you are unable to run in the marathon.

Donations raised and received by our office will not be refunded, even if you cancel before January 1, 2008.

MATCHING GIFT POLICY: Many companies match employees' charitable contributions. You can check with your employer to see if your company has this program, and ask your donors if their employers match gifts. Many companies issue matching gift checks quarterly or semi-annually, therefore, it is your responsibility to contact the matching company to ensure the check will be issued before May 15, 2008. If the companies match cycle is past May 15, the donation may not count toward your minimum.

BOSTON MARATHON® REGISTRATION: The American Liver Foundation will inform you of the details of marathon registration after your Run for Research® team application is accepted. The Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) charges a $200 race application fee that does not count toward your fundraising commitment. This fee will be collected at a later date. You should NOT contact the B.A.A. directly to secure your number or for any other reason.

RELEASE FORM AND CONTRIBUTION AGREEMENT: In consideration of my accepting this entry, I hereby for myself, my heirs, executors and administrators, waive and release any and all rights and claims for damages I may have against the American Liver Foundation and sponsors for any and all injuries suffered by me in said event. I further attest and certify that I am physically fit and have sufficiently trained for competition in this event, and a licensed medical doctor has verified my physical condition. I also grant permission for use of my name and/or photograph or voice in broadcast, telecast, print or any other account of this event. I agree to collect the fundraising minimum ($3,000 for charity invitational runners; $350 for Qualified Runners) for the American Liver Foundation by May 15, 2008. If I have not reached the minimum in sponsorships by that date, I will be personally responsible for the balance owed. I understand that unless I cancel by January 1, 2008, the American Liver Foundation reserves the right to bill the balance I owe to my credit card on May 15, 2008.
